What has changed in this version? was it even intentional? not making much sense at the moment. I would be interested if anyone has successfully been able to. So far we do not have an example of Excel 2016 being able to open a CSV file from a http or ftp location.

It doesn't look like any of these is what the 'Windows Credentials' is after. we have tried entering known sign-ons for the ftp/http server and domain sign-ons and PC sign-ons. With previous versions of Excel there was never a need to enter ANY sign-on. In answer to your question it is only CSV files that we have tried opening (the ftp/http locations only contain CSV files). I should have made the point in my original post that this is happening on more than 1 PC in fact we have a selection of client PCs with different environments ranging from Windows Server 2012 to Windows 7.Īny PC that has been upgraded to Excel 2016 then imediately stops opening CSV files when it had with all previous versions of Excel. Thanks for taking time to look at this issue. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, Emi,

Word opens fine but I haven't tried Power Point yet. I have Domain Admin Privileges and I am also the Farm Admin for sharepoint. The credentials supplied work fine in all other aspecs (Active Directory). I have been trying to get Excel documents to open in Sharepoint foundation 2010 and the browser persistently asks me for credentials without end.
